It&#8217;s a very approachable city, with no imposing high-rise buildings or imposing facades. Exchange rates mean that Iceland is very expensive for foreigners, and so adjust expectations accordingly when it comes to size of room or &#8220;fanciness&#8221; of dining experience. July\/August is a busy time for tourists, but the city didn&#8217;t feel overwhelmed &#8211; just busy.
